Bundt pan

The center tube bakes dense batters all the way through.

What it is and why it matters

A Bundt pan is a ring-shaped pan with a tube in the middle. The tube lets heat reach the center of a thick, dense batter, so the cake bakes through without the outside drying out. The fluted sides give the cake its shape with no frosting needed.
