Ingredients
- 4 boneless pork chops, about 1 inch thick (6 to 8 oz each)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ¼ tsp dried thyme
- ¼ tsp black pepper
Cook to 145°F inside (check with a thermometer).
Steps
- Pat the chops dry and rub them all over with the oil.
- Stir the brown sugar, smoked paprika, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme and pepper together, then press it onto both sides of the chops.
- Heat the air fryer to 400°F.
- Lay the chops in the basket in a single layer, not touching, and air fry.
- Flip the chops and air fry until the center reads 145°F (63°C).
- Rest the chops on a plate before serving.
Tip: The USDA safe temperature for whole cuts of pork is 145°F (63°C) followed by a 3-minute rest. A little blush of pink inside is fine.
Tip: Thinner chops (1/2 inch) need only 7 to 9 minutes total. Start checking early.
Tip: Cook in two batches if your basket is small; crowded chops steam.
Tip: Use a separate cutting board for raw meat, and wash hands, boards and knives in hot soapy water after handling it.
Storage: Refrigerate in an airtight container within 2 hours, up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F for 3 to 4 minutes.
