Lemon Butter Baked Salmon
- 4 salmon fillets, about 6 oz each, skin on or off
- ¾ tsp kosher salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lemon, half juiced, half thinly sliced
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 1 tbsp fresh dill or parsley, chopped
Lemon Butter Baked Salmon
- Heat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a sheet pan with parchment.
- Pat the salmon dry and set it on the pan, skin side down, with space between the fillets. Season with salt and pepper.
- Stir the melted butter with the garlic, lemon juice and zest. Spoon it over the salmon and lay a lemon slice on each fillet.
- Bake until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and reaches 145°F (63°C) in the thickest part. Thinner fillets finish sooner.
- Spoon the buttery pan juices over the top and sprinkle with dill.
- Cook to 145°F inside (check with a thermometer).
